Alexander Kondratskiy I really love this album - it's very unique. It goes from serene to lively to contemplative to mysterious to ominous etc. and everything in between. The instrumentation is great as is the mix. Favorite track: Rouge.

Bonnie L Such talent in this album.
Tuukka Junnikkala

Tuukka Junnikkala I've really taken a shine to this record. It's so rich with its lush melodies, and the use of note progression and dissonance clearly show the composer's classical background. The whole album is just full of magical moments and the amount of variety is really refreshing while the almost deceptive simplicity can hide its complexity. I honestly don't know what there is not to like.

"The Moment" should seriously make any music fan want to go listen to some Godspeed You! Black Emperor. Favorite track: The Twelve Tones.
Steve

Steve The best way I can describe this album would be that it reminds of old RPG soundtracks that I grew up with. The limited scope of sounds forced composers to compensate by pouring more effort into composition and experimentation with genres, scoring entire worlds with only 16 bits. I hear this exploratory spirit in Brandt's music, but she, free from any hardware limitations, fleshes out her compositions with up to 30 instruments and sounds in a single piece. It's a winning combination. Favorite track: The Twelve Tones.

Leigh Dyer A collection of pocket symphonies, and a strong contender to take the title of Genre Spanner away from one Howard Moon Favorite track: Run.

"Numbers & Shapes" is 14 tracks of original compositions, written and orchestrated for 30+ instruments. The album blends a variety of genres, mainly electro-acoustic, contemporary classical, and electronic sounds. Yet each song is unique and takes on its own shape, sometimes playing on jazz or world rhythms; one track has a post-rock vibe, another is ambient and dreamy, others are more traditionally classical.

There are also a lot of fun instrumentations on this record, ranging from solo piano to string quartet to a mixture of woodwinds, guitars and electronic synths, to a 32-piece orchestra on the last track. Numbers, patterns and different concepts of music theory were large inspirations in writing this album, as were the ideas of shapes, contours, and builds.
